Friday Snapshots #19

August 30, 2013

Hey… and a lovely humid Friday to you 🙂  Labor Day weekend is extra reason to get excited right?  We have LOTS of plans… John and I planned a long run in Baltimore tonight WITHOUT the kids (usually we have bikes & a jog stroller in our entourage).  That completely counts as a date!!!  Also, Susie and I are shooting a wedding; John, the boys, and I will be heading down to St. Mary’s Country for a family reunion; and sprinkled through the weekend, we have great sets of friends coming to share food and fellowship.  Should be awesome 🙂

Today’s snapshots:

1. I bought a running skort this week.  I have extremely mixed feelings about this choice.  I think the biggest pro is that I’ll now be distracted from my aching legs, burning lungs, and nausea by complete and total self-consciousness over my running skirt.  And as far as I’m concerned, any distraction during running is a positive development.

2.  Anyone camping this weekend?  Here are 23 Secrets to Cooking on a Camp Fire.

3. My good friend from college, Jay Carbonella, is joining us for our September/October weddings.  Really excited about working with him!!  Here’s a newborn shoot he did recently that I think is just stunning.  Look out for the 5th photo down, with the mom’s hands reaching out and around the baby.  Just a very emotional photo!

I posted on facebook this week about the moment I realized that one of my sons had worn the SAME SHIRT for the first three days of school.  Here he is, SOOOO happy to model in his infamous shirt 🙂

I completely agree about the photo with the hands!

Showed Peter your post about the shirt. He told me a story about how one day he decided to pick out a character in a book that he was reading and dress like him for the rest of the year, so it must be in the genes. I asked him how your mom let that happen and he told me that he thinks it only lasted about a week before she put a stop to it. At least Marcus was trying to promote a good cause with his wildlife shirt!

Becky/Susie – can’t wait for the next few weeks! Thanks for the shout-out. I fear Max has the same problem as your son with the extended-wear attire, but with Lightning McQueen. I’m not putting a stop to it right now…I’m sure I’ll pay later. As Melissa says – at least he’s promoting a good cause…Max is promoting speeding on our highways and automobile-personified pride.

I love the story of Marcus’ shirt-I have a feeling my son will be the same! Also, let me know if that running skort really distracts like you think it will-I may just have to try that trick 🙂
